The kids' elementary school had a big fundraiser in October to raise awareness for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. During the assembly they made an announcement about the big Diabetes Walk that would be happening on the morning of Halloween. Miss Emma came home from school that day determined to participate in the walk. She was so excited and really wanted to be a part of it so we decided that we would walk as a family. We had so much fun and it was such a great learning experience for the kids. I am so proud of all three kids for taking time out of their lives to help out those who are in need...maybe we are raising them right!!! We decided that we would ride the new Phoenix Light Rail to the race which was taking place at Tempe Town Lake. So much fun and we didn't have to worry about parking.
All our feet at the platform waiting for the train.

Here we go!!!
Just a glimpse of some of the people in front of us.
Little Emma was so excited that we couldn't keep her beside us through out the whole walk. She was so great and she walked the whole way. What a cutie!!

Our break stop at the second mile. Time to load up on water and fruit.

Almost to the finish line. We were getting pretty tired by this time so we had to sit and take lots of breaks.
I really wanted a picture of everyone crossing the finish line so I ran ahead and was able to get this one. It was hard to get a good one with so many people crossing the line at the same time.
At the end of the race.....Way to go Roberts' Family!!!!
