Back track to Spring Break

For Spring Break this year I took Tristan and Emma to San Diego. Shane and Brittany were in Washington D.C. on a school trip so it was just the three of us in San Diego. One of our very first stops was to the beach. Both kids couldn't wait to get in the water and play in the sun. Needless to say, they were a little disappointed when we got out of the car and it was freezing. The wind was blowing and it was only about 60 degrees!! But, it didn't stop them from heading out to the beach and climbing on the rocks.
One of Shane's good friends, Rob, lives in San Diego with his wife, Simone. Whenever Rob comes to Arizona he hangs out at our house so we wanted to be sure to return the favor and hang out at his house while we were on vacation. This is a picture of Rob and both my babies on Rob's Indo Board. I guess this board helps to teach you how to surf, although I am not sure that surfing with three people on one board is totally safe!
We had to try the beach again the next day to see if it was any warmer. It was a little bit. At least the wind wasn't blowing like crazy this day. The rule of the day was to only get your feet wet and keep the rest of your body DRY. You can see how well that rule went over. Within two minutes of being there Tristan "accidently" fell down and got himself soaked. Then two minutes later Emma followed suit and she was soaked from head to toe.
Nothing like playing in the sand when you are totally wet and sticky!! This was a real treat to clean up before getting into the car.
Our major outing was to Legoland. Tristan has been asking to go here for about two years now and he was so happy to finally go. This place is awesome. If you have never been then you should definately try getting out there. I would love to go back and just walk around to look at everything. It is amazing what they can do with lego's.
