We attended the Stadium of Fire at BYU on July 4th. What a great experience. Miley Cyrus was the main performer along with the Blue Man Group. It was hosted this year by Glen Beck and I have to tell you, it was the most amazing 4th that I have ever had. I am so proud to be an American and to live in this amazing country. One of the most special parts of the evening was when they brought all the military families in to sit on the grass in front of the main stage. What an amazing site to see all these moms and/or dads with their kids enter the stadium. The coolest part was when they found out that the event was being broadcast to all the military bases in the world and that their loved ones would be watching the show right along with them. How cool is that?
Of course they had a huge American Flag that was brought out onto the field by all the different military personnel. Shane & I both teared up at the site of this huge flag. Even Miss Emma belted out the Pledge of Allegiance and tried her best to sing the National Anthem.
Emma was so excited to see Hannah Montana. We found out when the show started that it was only going to be Miley Cyrus. Bummer for her. However, she still screamed and jumped up and down for the majority of the concert. After about and hour and a half we had to finally tell her that she was going to lose her voice if she kept screaming. I thought that would give us a little bit of relief, but it didn't. She continued to scream until after the fireworks ended!!
Daddy was so smart and brought along a couple pairs of gun muffs for the kids' ears. What a great idea. They came in very handy for Emma, which might explain why she kept screaming during the concert, she couldn't tell that she was being so loud!
Shane's sister, Heidi and her family also went with us. My kids just love Aunt Heidi, maybe because she loves to party and enforces no rules when the kids are around? Oh well, we love her anyways and are so happy to be living close to her and her family.
