The main reason we went to Ventura was to watch the Light Parade of Boats. We have heard that it is quite fun so we wanted to check it out. Besides the on and off rain storm we had a pretty good time.
Dad had the brilliant idea to turn the seats in the van around so that the kids would stay warm and dry while they watched the parade out the back tail gate. It was a fabulous idea, as long as no one pushed too hard on the seat back. I, however, got stuck outside the van on a camping chair!! But, that's okay, I wanted to get a few good pics of the boats!
Two of my favorites. The theme was "California Dreaming" so everyone had some sort of Cali thing going on. Santa on a hammock between two palm trees is definitely the way we celebrate Christmas here in SoCal!!
The boats didn't really travel in a specific route as they headed through the harbor which was a little bit scary. Shane & I were sure that there was going to be a collision of sorts but they all managed just fine.
At the end of the parade we saw an amazing sight - it was Santa Clause and his reindeer flying through the night!!! This had to be the highlight of the evening for all of us!
